20-12 Catch Up

Okay, I'm behind a few days...AGAIN! This cold has me so stuffed up in the head, my sinuses have had so much pressure my eyes won't focus. So, my blogging has suffered for it...LOL! Anyway, here goes the past few days in my little life.

This is when my cold started in. My life has revolved around tissues, thermometers and cold pills for about a week now. YUCK!

Our pretty Cleo Kitty. I saved her from the lonely life of a street cat in 2004. Only to turn her into an outside cat in 2005 due to Todd's allergies mixed with a small house and no where to keep a litter box away from Bekah. She is very loyal and quite the kitty. She follows commands. Not kidding, the only cat I know that you can tell to go home and she does. Tell her to get out of the street and she will. She is silly and so super sweet. Love her tiny little features and her petite size.

So, Todd and I couldn't sleep the other night so we decided to turn up the heat a little bit. We broke out a fresh deck of cards and went head to head in 500 Rummy. He won...he always does. It was nice to do something so simple and be playful (we trash talk each other the entire time we play...so stupid and hilarious).

"Lucy! You got some 'splaining to do!" This is the one I worry about. Aubrey! She thought it would be fun to put her panty hose on her head and walk around in my dress shoes after the meeting on Wednesday night. When I asked her to stop so I could get a picture, she struck this pose. Too funny! I can see this in her high school year book come senior year...Muwhahaha!

The long walk home from the bus stop. Its only at the end of our cul de sac but Bekah is met each day by me and her little sister. Her older cousin, Jasmine walks with her most days too. This was a particularly hard day for her since she'd had an incident with another little one on the bus. Bekah got "kicked" off the seat (literally) and knocked onto the floor. So Jasmine came to her rescue. She was really so glad to have her bigger cousin there to look after her.

Oh, how I love creative learning! The kindergarten students got to dress up as 100 year old elderly ladies and gents today. Why? To celebrate the100th day of school of course. Bekah looked so super cute all donned up in her rollers, hair net, glasses and accessories. She did wear her slippers with her outfit to school. The entire class was a hoot! There were some with gray spray on their hair and drawn on beards and mustaches. One little girl had a baton for a cane. So happy I can help with her classroom and enjoy all the fun and learning. Aubrey went too. She was sporting curlers and a hair net. She also had a sweater and some beads with pink glasses.

I have to say that Mrs. Howard is such an understanding teacher. She allows Aubrey to come with me while I assist the class. Aubrey gets to join in the centers and rotate with her sister. She is learning right along with the other students and loves it! Until it is time to leave. Leaving is not something she loves and I usually have to carry her out crying and kicking. That part...not so much fun.

20-12 Catch up

Alrighty, these are not necessarily photos taken on the day assigned to them. I decided to swipe some pics from my little sis from her facebook albums. My brother turned a year older the other day and he was in my thoughts so I'm adding one of he and his lovely wife, Kimberly. The photo of them was taken at their 10th Anniversary Party this past October. I have one of a gorgeous sunset that I witnessed driving into town a few days ago. I actually pulled over on the side of the road and took a few photos with my cell phone. So, I'm so tired now I'm just going to load them up and let you enjoy them. Sorry for the run on sentences and poor paragraph. Its late and I've had so very little sleep. Whine...whine...whine....LOL!

Loved this photo of my silly little ones. I was tucking them in after a long day and was so amused by their slap-happy giggles and their silly faces. I was so tired, aching and a little crabby...after a few minutes alone with these two...not so much. You just can't be in a "bad" mood too long when you are surrounded by such wonderful little people.

I finally finished ready Little Bee. This is a story that left me frustrated. It was good, but too real. I needed a book with an escape and I got raw hard truth and I just didn't want that. Would I recommend this to somebody else? Yes. Its riddled with a desperate hope and humanity that can touch you.

20-12 Three More Days...

Took this out the back door. The sunrise reminded me of my Grandpa. When I would stay over night, Grandpa and I used to stand at the east side of the house where there were large sliding glass doors. We'd just stand there, silent, watching the sun come up. He drinking his coffee and me eating my cereal. It was a very good thing.

Grade cards! Bekah's very first...she had good marks and a great evaluation. Above grade level! She starts her excellerated reading program on Monday. So proud of her!

I'm proud of Anna too. She's had a crazy first half of school with lots of appts. and time missed at school. Her course of study was pretty strenuous too. Still, she got Honorable Mention! Way to go, baby girl!

Anna and the girls were playing dress up late this morning. When it came time to eat everybody felt like pancakes. So we had "Princess Pancakes" today for brunch. It was cute. Its these little things I'll miss when they are all grown up.

Well, I'm doing these a few days at a time and its seems to be confusing me. Imagine that...me confused about something...LOL! So, I may revert to everyday again, just to keep myself straight on what's been accomplished and what hasn't.

Monday, January 16th

After dental cleanings I took the girls to Pizza Hut for an early dinner. Anna's eyes looked so pretty. She's been playing around with some new make up techniques and her eyes really popped! I just had to get a photo of my pretty girl.

Tuesday, January 17th

Daisy has an issue with her training cage. She thinks there is something living under it. Or, she's trying to bury her chew toys. Either way, she's the only dog I know that has dug a hole through the plastic liner of her training cage. She is not right.

Wednesday, January 18th

Today was a big day in the developement of my littlest baby girl. She had her first dental cleaning. When Anna and Bekah went on Monday to get their cleanings, Aubrey was super upset that she didn't get to have one too. So, we scheduled an appointment. Today was the day, she did a good job (from what I'm told they don't like parents to stay in the room so I waited in the lobby...boo-hoo). No cavities! However, she didn't like the taste of the flouride varnish...not at all! Hehehe.

Two days of 20-12

January 14th

After an especially cruddy week, Sheryl, (who has been my best buddy since I was seven years old) took me to dinner at Longhorn in Chillicothe. When we went to get a table the wait time was one hour and thirty to forty minutes. We had no kids with us so we opted to sit in the bar area. We got fast service! Our waiter was named, Jason, he took very good care of us, even made sure they cut my steak for me in the kitchen since I only had one arm.

The bar had different lights in it that made the bottle of liquor glow. I thought it was kind of pretty so I took a photo of it. Didn't get to have any drinks, although I would have liked to, the shoulder meds don't mix with alcohol. However, the iced tea and lemon were very good.

January 15th

I wasn't sure what to photograph today since I didn't go anywhere. I didn't see anything of interest. I was at a loss. Then it dawned on me...I have something of interest I look at often. It lives across the field behind my backyard. I see it every time I do the dishes from my window and each time I step out the back door. The same thought fills my mind every single time my eyes rest upon it...

What in the world is holding this thing up?

If you look closely at the barn you can see an awning of sorts. Its a mass of lumber that has been falling apart like a bad game of pick-up-sticks since I've lived in my home (built it in 1998). Every year a little more falls down. Each stormy day and windy night you can hear the wood creaking and swaying.

I suppose when it finally falls down, I'll miss it. I'll miss the wonder of how it still stands, unsupported and toppling over itself. Like so many common sites that errod away with time and decay, this too shall pass.

Then where will all the barn cats go?

Three days of 20-12 Photos

Okay here are the past three photos for my 20-12 pics. I've been a bit pre-occupied and also have a bum arm...well, shoulder. Boo-hoo right? LOL!

My new sidekick. My arm sling. Have to wear this since I got a sprained A-C joint taking my little sweet Jasper out to pee. Never thought I'd be outdone by a 15 pound dog!

Here is a view of our local courthouse ceiling. Isn't it pretty? The artist who did the paintings also worked on the walls. He was pretty famous and I sincerely do not remember his name. I really think we have a very lovely historical courthouse.

Miss Anna...oh, how I love her. She was rummaging through her belongings trying to figure out what to take to her father's. She found quite a lot and left the rest on the floor. Wow! I know what she'll be doing next weekend. LOL!

Guess what? I can't get my January 10th photo to load right now.

The photo is one of Aubrey and Bekah sitting in front of the LaLaLoopsy Glitter Puzzle they just put together. (With very little help from me.) The girls and I have discovered the simple pleasure of putting together puzzles, as a family. Anna helps sometimes too, or she will let the girls come into her room and build one with them.

So far our puzzles are about 60 pieces or less. Someday, I can see us sitting around on a rainy day sipping tea and building a puzzle during an afternoon. Some day.

Took the girls to get flu shots today. Enough said...right? Got home and found a package full of happy mail from my online buddy, Dorcas. I won a blog candy give away she was having about a week ago. That was an awesome suprise! Lots of fun stuff for me and my girlies to play with. I can't even describe how many yards and varieties of ribbon were in that bag. WOWZERS!

Oh, because I had to photograph her adorable card that she sent to us, I did put the text across the photo off center to be sure that no one would try to copy the card front. Yes, sad but true, its happened to many of our card making friends out there. Somebody even went as far as placing them on a disc and tried to (she had some success) sell them. Need a card front? Just print one out. Hello! That's called stealing and I don't stand for it. So, I put text over the card front. Get me off of my soap box please. LOL!

Todd worked all day and stopped to rent a movie that he could watch with the girls before bedtime. He brought home Mr. Popper's Penguins. It was so cute. They all had fun watching. It was good to hear him laughing along with the girls during the movie, even though he had such a long and tiring day.

Making Watermarks in Photoshop

Here is a little tutorial on the process I used to create a watermark for myself. Now, I'm not very savvy on these kinds of things but it worked. If you know of an easier way, please share. :) Its really not that difficult though. Once I figured it out (which took me For-evah!) it takes little time to repeat the process. So, here goes:

In Photoshop you'll need to create a New blank doc, name it and then choose "transparent" at the background contents area.

You will get a blank "checker board" looking document...so far, so good. Now, lets make it pretty.

On the right of your workspace you will find your edits for your content. Select a graphic you like and add it to your workspace (blank layer) by dragging it over. Or, you can choose it and then click "Apply".

Once your graphic is there you can adust the size, angle and play around with it until you like it. Click apply (in my case the little green check mark).

Add more graphics if you like to create a nice visual for your watermark.

On the left you'll find the "T" in the tool bar. Click it and add your text box in its desired location. (Remember you can move it later if you need to.)

You can fit all of your text in one box. However, I find it easier if you use more than one:

Using more than one box allows you to adjust font style and font size more easily. Also, it allows for easier positioning of your text.

Note the highlighted box at the top, this is your font color. Most programs default to a black. You can choose what color will work best for your projects. In my experience with watermarks a lighter color actually works better.

Here is what the font and color look like after the adjustments.

Now, we save...

First, go to the "Layer" key and click. On the drop down box choose the "Merge Visible" option. (Its near the bottom of the box.)

Now, you want to save as a PNG. file. On the options be sure that "None" is selected and click OK.

Here is a photo of a card I made. The watermark is on the lower left corner.

So the mark is visible but not too distracting.

Have fun with this. If you need help applying the watermark to your projects let me know. I'll help set up a tutorial on how I do that too.

My photo entry for the day. I took Aubrey here today for lunch. Most of you know this as McDonald's but in our family we call it "Chicken Donald's". It all started with my two year old Bekah and now it seems to have become a family thing. Bekah is six and still calls it Chicken Donald's and so does her little sister. Apparently, we've even got some of our favorite little friends using this special nickname too.

A Tutorial on the Way

Okay, this photo wasn't taken today, it was taken on the 2nd. However, I'm using it to showcase something that I finally figured out today...how to make a cute watermark! So, my entry for the day is actually the watermark, not the photo...if that makes any sense. Still, the photo is of my darling, Bekah and I love it.

I may need to go back and tweek a little, like the font color. White usually works best for so many card projects, but I think I'll create a few watermarks with different font colors for every occassion...LOL! Its like a good pair of shoes you know...you have to have them in more than one color.

For my photo today, I chose these gorgeous little oranges. Cuties! A new family favorite. They are a hybrid cultivated to be seedless and easy to peel for little hands. Not to mention they are so sweet and juicy that Todd and I love them too.

Todd brought them home in a box and I thought it was so cute. One of my favorite color combos too, so its just fun for me to look at. Orange and blue...how can you go wrong with that?

The wonders of a first snow. The girls had so much fun playing in the snow, the first accumulation we've had in this area. It packed well, even though there was only about an inch of the stuff. There were snow angels and snow castles made. Followed by a snow ball fight. I just loved watching their excited little faces as they rediscovered one of the miracles of winter.

January 1st 20-12 Project

This is my first photo for my Twenty-Twelve Photo Project. The object is to take at least one photo a day and post it to our facebook group. At the end of the year we will have a visual chronical of our life and experiences.

Last night my brother, John and his family came for dinner. We don't get to see each other as much as we would like because of different scheduling and a long drive. So, this was a really nice way to start off a new month and a new year...with people we love.

I'm going to add a little place here on my blog to follow the pics of our daily photo. If you are ever interested in what we have just click on 20-12 under the labels.

DP2 Challenge has a challenge this week that is pretty simple. Choose the card you've created in 2011 using one of Mo Mannings gorgeous digital images, that is your favorite and link it up. So, I'm going to play along. I love Mo's images, have for a long time. I don't quite do them justice but I enjoy working with them each and every time.

Desk Update.

Okay, I said I'd try to upload some pics of the progress. I'm not done but I've got the base coat done, the drawers primed and the top has its first coat of stain.

One more coat on the frame, at least one more coat of stain, some sanding in between and the drawer fronts get their coats too...then, Anna can work her magic. Can't wait to see what it looks like when she's done. Hope we have enough time. Bekah is to be home around 6:00 tomorrow and these paint/stain coats need time to dry. I'm sure it will all work out.

Yes, I am doing this project in my dinning room/kitchen area. Its very, very crowded in there right now. But the desk is taking a nice turn.

Blog Candy for ME! Yay!

I just got some fun information (well a little earlier in the day really) that I had been chosen, via Random.org as the winner of the blog candy at Dorcas Designs! I'm so excited because one of the items just happens to be the Spellbinders Buckles. I've nearly purchased them several times but always found a reason why I shouldn't spend the money on myself and my hobby. (Its pretty easy with three girls at home to do that.) So, I'm super happy about winning them and can't wait to use them on ribbons and such for my projects.

Working on Bekah's desk today. Stripping the drawer fronts now and prepping the desk for painting...Pineapple Sorbet...lovely color. I picked it because it closely resembles the cream in my dinette set and because Bekah loves pineapple. (She doesn't know this but I'm also baking a pineapple upside down cake tomorrow for the big reveal.)

I hope to have photos to share before the end of the day.

New Cards and Projects

So, I decided to work on a couple of cards while I stripped the paint off a desk. Sounds crazy but the cards gave me something to do while I waited on the stripping agent to work. So here is what I did in the order in which it was completed...

The desk...

This is after I took off some of the top. The top had the same deep primary tones in the alphabet just like the side with the numbers. It needed a little TLC and second coat to get through those dark pigments.

Card One...

Got a little "Blink of an Eye" DP, Whimsy Stamp, Image is digi by Sassy Cheryl Stamps.

Back to desk...

A couple hours of scrapping and scrubbing later, the paint is gone. The rings are just wet spots where I had to wash off residue. Its all dry now and looks much better. I will need to refinish the top, the stripping agent took it down to bare wood. I'm thinking I'll start on the drawers tomorrow. By the end of the week I hope to have it all done. I've already comissioned a local artist to do some pretty florals on the right side. She is really excited to do this project because she loves her little sister so much. That's right! Anna is getting so good at her painting that I'm letting her paint the furniture for me. Can't wait to see it come to life. A Mo Manning image. Wanted a casual fun card. The papers are Picadilly. Used 1/4 inch strips to create the weave element. Just added a little Helmar Craft Clue to tac the ends down. Its great stuff that glue. Drys so quickly and clear...AWESOME stuff! The ticket is a Whimsy Stamp set...LOVE these ticket stamps. They coordinate with a die shape and come out perfect.

Another Mo Manning image. Tabitha, I think is the name of the fairy. Used DCWV papers here too. Lots of glitter on her and some glitter paper too. This is so pretty in person, glitter never quite comes through like you want it to, does it?

Isn't she precious? She is Shy from Mo Manning of course! Love this little darling and her floppy bunny. Tickets are Whimsy Stamps and the sentiment is from The Greeting Farm, Keep Cozy set. I think I used Picadilly papers here too, but I can't swear to it at this point.

Remembering...

Today I am remembering a certain person who could always make me smile. Someone who gave the best hugs. I changed his diapers, fed him, bathed him. Wiped away his tears. I fought for him, cuddled with him, sang to him. I didn't always agree with him. He didn't always agree with me. But we loved each other through so many circumstances and situations, realizing that neither of us would ever be perfect in this life and accepting each other for what we were...Siblings.

Each day since he's been gone, I've looked at his photo hanging on my wall. I've talked about him with my girls. He is alive in my heart and mind and I pray forever instilled in the hearts and minds of my children. In a way, he was my first baby. The "practice child" I nurtured when I was just a child myself. I used to resent that...having that responsibility so young. Now? Now I'm grateful that my mother could trust me so much with him. I'm grateful for those little moments I wouldn't have had otherwise and the bond it created between us.

That bond may be broken in this imperfect life, but it is still alive in my heart. I will carry it on with me until I can see him again in Paradise. Then, then we can laugh and smile again. We can embrace one another with an unknown joy. He can laugh at me for having to grow so old in this system. And I can laugh at him because he'll finally understand the promises of Jehovah God (Psalm 83:18; Exodus 6:3) are real. Silly boy...ye of little faith...I hate that it will take something so drastic to make a point with you. I'm thrilled to know you will have another chance to learn to let God in your heart and life. I'm thrilled that you can be reunited with those you've lost, your father, your grand-parents. People who meant so much to you. Your hurt will be gone forever and you my very special, very loved brother...you will have an opportunity for the greatest life possible. A life lived in Truth, Knowledge and Perfection. A life governed by our Creator and Mentor; Jehovah and his son Christ Jesus.

As I sit here in my imperfect world, aching desperately in my heart to hear your voice again, I am reminded that I have so much HOPE. The Hope of living in a world where "death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." (Rev 21:4) Jason, I know that you, even though taken in death...you have that Hope too. (Acts 24:15) For that reason alone, I am eternally indebted to the mercies of Jehovah.

Redecorating and Reorganizing

My posts have been few and far between lately. I've been dealing with so many appointments, there's been little time to get my crafty space organized, let alone be able to play with all my fun stuff. Now we are trying to get the house ready for new flooring throughout and new furniture and appliances. WOW! I've been dreaming of this for so long but its a lot of work!

My desire is to get back to some crafty time very soon. I've got new school photos to scrap and a fun new camera to take seasonal photos with. Scrapping may occupy lots of time for a while but I'm itching to get some cards made too. Can't wait to share with all of you.

I'm sending happy creative thoughts to all of my bloggy friends.

New Post on my New Laptop

Okay here is my first post created using my new HP Pavilion Laptop. My last laptop was also an HP and a Pavilion. These are great little systems. My new one has more memory and is super quick. It doesn't have a large black line running through the screen. Nor has it been shoved off the arm of the couch by my very precocious three year old and had the power source messed up. (BTW, the new one has every protection plan they offered...LOL!)

So, I wanted to make a post about my brother and his lovely wife. They just celebrated their 10th Wedding Anniversary. Here is one photograph of them from their formal celebration.

Something Rediscovered

Have you ever gone through your closet and found an article of clothing your forgot you owned? Ever gone through your scrap stash and dicovered something wonderful you'd forgotten you had? How exciting that can be in an otherwise uneventful day. Little things like that can really pick my mood up and get me all warm and fuzzy inside. LOL!

Well, thanks to a great little blog hop that Lori Boyd of By Lori Designs had this past weekend. I rediscovered two amazing resources for fun, inspiration and adorable images.

First, the designs of Lori herself. She has the cutest little line up of images in her store. She also features some art work done by her daughter, Hannah. Lori's hubby, Eric has a couple seasonal images too. Its a fun place for family friendly images that everyone can enjoy.

Second, was Whimsie Doodles. I discovered them not long after I began blogging. However, I'm really bad about keeping up with everything on the web world and hadn't been there to visit for a while. Well, after stopping by Sheri Gilson's blog and seeing some of her great cards using the newest Whimsie images, I had to pay a visit. So stinkin' cute! Love the new images and did a little shopping. Found a great sale on some rubber images too.

He-art Journaling Week 3 - Gratitude/Thankfulness

This week we were asked to journal about things we are grateful for or thankful for. Really there are just too many things for me to list on two pages so I improvised. I put the things that came to mind first in no particular order.

The project directions also asked you to use layers. I'd like to have had more layers but I did have fun layering up my inks and images to create a unique background. Because of the fact that I am using a book for my journal, I don't want to build it up too much...I'd like it to close up when I'm all done with it.

Anna also did this week's project and chose to do the one page option. She's been a busy girl. So this was a really good thing for her. Her little stick people doodles are too cute. I like that she actually hand cut the word "stars" out of felt and added it to her page.

He-art Journal Week 2

Anna and I had a very busy weekend with the District Convention. It was a wonderful three days spent surrounded by our brothers and sisters in faith. We received so much spiritual food that I know personally, I really needed to hear. I'm so grateful to have been there and experienced that privilege.

Monday, we got a little surprise for the two little ones while everyone was away at a Grandma's house. A new puppy! She's a sweet little puggle baby and her name is Daisy. You can see her on my facebook photos...I haven't figured out how to load my camera photos to blogger yet. Yes, I have a new cell phone and the camera is great for loading to facebook but I'm so inept at electronics and techy stuff I can't load them here yet. LOL!

Anna and I completed our He-art Journal entries for Week 2. Our theme was Sun, Sand, Beach. Here is what we came up with in our limited time:

Anna's project. She loves her little crab in the sand. Wish I would have moved that nasty stained pot holder that migrated to the table. Not sure why it is even there. Oh, well. Her entry is still pretty.

I think it took longer to draw those little feet than it would have taken to walk the Gulf of Mexico...LOL!

I'm sure there will be lots of fun updates to come but for now, I'm off to get something special for my husband.

He-art Journal Week 1

Well, I'm doing the TGF He-art Journal Class. The Week 1 assignment was to use a wings theme. It was to be a two page spread. Anna Beth also decided to play along. Here is what we did:

This was her first time stamping. She chose images that reflected her different moods.

She worked on her little fairy and her bird for quite a while. Shushing me often because I'd break her concentration...LOL! I'd hoped she'd color it a bit but this is her journal and this is how she wanted it. {Smiling}

Here is what I put together:

My cover was so much fun. to create. Love the way it came out.

I used a variety of images, medias and let myself go a bit here. I didn't want it to feel too planned. This is about my heart, so of course there is meaning and symbolism here. I left the journaling off the page, too personal to share. I will share one thing...the music notes represent the song(s) of my heart.

Well, we'll be back to share the Week 2 pages. They are to be based on a Sun, Sand, Beach theme this time. Hmmm? I've got a jar with the white sands of Marco Island that just may get a little lighter this week...just a current idea.

Bekah has lost a tooth!

Here are some pics of Bekah after she lost her first tooth. It was loose for a few weeks and she bumped it this morning about 1:30 AM, came out of her room crying and bleeding. I told her I'd help clean up the blood and after I had the tooth in my fingers (and out of her mouth) asked if I could try and pull her tooth out. She refused and started carrying on. So, I told her to look in my fingers and tell me what was in there...when she saw her tooth she started laughing. Silly little girl...she smiled until she feel asleep a little after 2:00 AM.

And this is the smile that lasted until she fell asleep. She was so proud of herself. It was so sweet, I love these little milestone moments that pass by all too quickly.

Bonnie of the Blush Society

I have a wonderful new image that was released earlier this month...as if its been a while...LOL! Her name is Bonnie and she is one of The Greeting Farm's newest members. Bonnie and her friend Babette belong to the elite Blush Society Collection. The are so sweet and wonderful, I really can't wait to see what else Marie has in store with this collection.

I also used some of the tips on photographing indoors from the ever talented, Jen Shults. She wrote up a great tutorial for TGF and posted it yesterday. If you click HERE you can read it. Now, ladies and gents, if I can follow this one and get improvement...ANYBODY can do it. I'm so not the techy-kind-o-gal and I can really see a difference in my photos by using the suggestions, Jen gave. Thank you, Jen!

This little card is full of depth. The bow and the layered butterfly are adhered with Helmar's Scrap Dots...LOVE this product! You can build on it to add demension.

Relax Card

I made this card this afternoon while the girls and I played with our crafty things. I got the water color pencils out and colored my little Anya and the water lillies with them. I have to say, she looks a bit pale but I do like the soft muted tones this technique rendered.

I'm not overly satisfied with this card. Most of which is my fault of course. I've managed to misplace my medium sized butterfly punch and I really thought it would have looked better than the tiny mulit butterflies...but, what are you gonna do? So, this is the result:

Here you can see the three layers I did for Anya and the two layers on the water lillies. I wanted to give it a lot of depth.

Here is the full front of the card. 5.5x4". The inside has a single colored water lilly on the bottom right corner. I like to do a little something on the inside but leave plenty of room for a nice handwritten note.

I may enter this in one of The Greeting Farm's blog challenges. I think FFF was to create a relaxing project with a throwback stamp. I think I managed to do that. So, why not?

Woops! Apparently I messed that challenge up with another, so I won't be entering this in anything. Told you I was bad about finding the challenges...LOL!

A Card for Brooke

Here is a little card I whipped up for Brooke. She is having a belated Graduation Party tomorrow. The party is being hosted by her maternal side of the family. Since it is the 4th of July, I'm guessing most of her family will have the day off tomorrow and it was convenient for everyone to gather together for her. Sounds good to me. The kid deserves to celebrate her acheivement.

Since I've already given her a couple of uber sentimental and lovey-dovey-I'm-so-proud-of-you cards, I went a different route this time. Using one of Mo Manning's delightful images I put this fun little card together for our "Superduper" Graduate...

I'm not entering this in any challenges. I just wanted to share it. Matter of fact, I'm not sure I'll be doing too many challenges in the future. It just takes so much time and I'd rather use that time to craft. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, I dunno, it seems like I'm spending too much time researching what challenge is happening here and there and how to create a project to fit this one or that one and truth be known...I'm WAY too lazy for that...LOL!

In all honesty I've got a lot I want to play with and hope to have some fun projects posted for you all to see. I like sharing ideas and I'm thankful to those who have also shared. Dorcas of Dorcas Designs has posted some wonderful tutorials on coloring that I'd like to play at for a while. I really would like to enhance that aspect of my card making. What kinds of things would you like to master in your craft? Please share, like I said...sharing is one reason why I do this.

Well, I'm off for now. Got to get my beauty rest and energy stored up for tomorrow. Today was a sicky day for me and I'm drained.

New Card...

I've got to say that I'm so happy with this little card. I just got this image a few days ago and I wanted to do something special with it. Its really precious and if you like faeries like we do then you will love the Emerald Faerie Garden Images. Deb is such a sweetie and she gets the digis out very quickly.

I also used a sketch from Helmar as my base inspiration. I used it once before but didn't own any of their glue, so I couldn't join in the challenge. Well, I'm happy to announce that I now own their Scrap Dots Glue and its pretty cool. It came in very handy when I glued my card together. The embossing makes the flat adhesives have a little trouble staying put. So a dot here and there on my little banner and blossom, a touch of pressure and wha-la! Its staying put and looking great!

Top 10 Reason Why My Teenager Doesn't Bring Friends Home

Okay here are the top 10 reasons why Anna doesn't like to bring her friends home. (In my opinion...LOL!)

10) Messy cluttered house

9) She doesn't have her room cleaned up

8) The gerbil cage stinks...I'm talking TOXIC

7) Its easier than trying to explain that you have to jiggle the handle when you flush or the toilet won't shut off

6) Afraid that Todd will come out of his man cave with no shirt on (JK honey!, we love your man belly)

5) Bekah...won't leave them alone

4) Aubrey...won't leave them alone

3) I'll say something strange like dishevelled and confuse them

2) I'll drag out the scrapbooks and show off her cute baby pics...even the naked ones

And the number one reason why Anna won't bring her friends over is because they might leave the house looking like this...

Yes, this is Anna's bff Sarah. She got a nose bleed at our house that was a real gusher. I remembered that athletes will use tampons when they get injured to stop a nosebleed...and the rest as they say is history.

Thank you Kotex for creating a little colorful tampon that matched Sarah's tank top so she could save it for later. Not to mention one that was small enough to fit in her nostril.

I just love this kid. Really, she is a wonderful young girl and I'm glad that she and Anna have such a good relationship.

A New Page...

Okay this is the first page I've done in a while. I got the design inspiration from the Helmar DT. Its based on a sketch they posted on their blog. I can't enter their challenge because I don't own any of their adhesive, still, I liked the simplicity of one photo and the off-set title and creative journal area. I added my own alteration to the journal area due to having a background with wording. It was just too busy directly on the background dp, so I wrote my journaling out on a coordinating peice of paper and it makes it so much easier to read.

This photo was greatly edited from a very blurry snapshot taken by our waiter at Brio's. It was the only cute pic we had, the only one of us together not being goofy and it was a baaaaad shot. So, I played with it in an editing software program and created a more artsie looking snapshot. I really like the way it came out.

Interested in what I used? Well, I raided my stash. Had some leather flowers and brads from ages ago that I put on there. Some Bo-Bunny buttons and bling. Rhinestones that I placed on individually to create the flourishes (boy, do my hands ache right now from all that peeling and sticking!), the template is from Bazzill. Harvest alpha-QK; Cuttlebug; Lacy Squares and Lg. Squares-SB; Distress Ink-Vintage Photo; MME DP-Simple Delights; Misc. CS; Prima Chocolate CS.

Brooke Has Graduated!

Our oldest, Brooke, graduated from High School yesterday. Here she is picking up her diploma from the Superintendent. Todd and I both got teary eyed when she got it. We are so sentimental...LOL.

After graduation she went to her grandmother's house and we took a few photos. Her grandfather brought out one of his classic cars for her to use as a prop. She looks like she is arriving in style here. Love it!

She also took time to share the moment with her little sisters. They were so proud of her. Neither were sure what it meant to graduate but they understood it was big achievement for her. As hot as it was in the gymnasium, they two of them sat still and were very well behaved.

Todd is still coping from the realization that his baby girl is growing up. We are both very proud of Brooke. The future is wide open for her and we will be there to support and encourage her along the way. Love you, Brookie!

Simple Graduation Card

I just made this very simple graduation card featuring little Anya in digi from The Greeting Farm. It is very basic, due to the fact that I started this about 3:00 AM and I was too tired to worry about anything "fancy". My daughter's step-sister has a special graduation ceremony tomorrow and I couldn't let her get away without at least a card to give to this sweet girl.

Yes, the card is a bit out of focus, however, I took it in night mode in a pitch black room. No sentiment on this one, Anna wants to write her own message to Mandy.

Points of Interest...

A Few Points of Interest From the Past Week...

Last week proved to be an interesting week up to and including today. Here are a few of the highlights...

1) Bi-focals...yes, I went there...the "B" word. It seems I'll be dealing with those lovely little fellows for the rest of my adult life. On the up side, I hear it will improve my vision for crafting. I should even be able to thread a needle and do detail coloring again.

2) Family portraits...picked them up and was really happy with the results. However, if the camera only adds 10 pounds...where were the other 3-5 cameras they had pointed at me? I mean really! I knew I was getting to be a chunky monkey but this is crazy. Time to take my exercise seriously...my eyes are starting to fail, don't need the cardiovascular system doing the same.

3) My baby is growing up and ready to move on...to Kindergarten that is. She did very well with her registration and we celebrated with a little treat from Bath and Body Works. She got to pick out two Mommy approved sample sized products. She was being such a "big girl" then the cashier put her items in its own little bag for her. As he did, she jumped up and down clapping her little hands in excitement. Everybody in the store was in "Awwwww Mode". I loved it.

4) I hate...Hate...HATE MIGRAINE HEADACHES! Nuff said.

5) You CAN flush a full sized wash cloth down the toilet. Yes, Aubrey proved this true at least once this week, we caught her before the second one was flushed. I am not looking forward to the side effects this may cause.

6) Caring friends exist in places we may forget to look.

Well, those are just a few of the highlights from my week. I hope everyone out there in blog land had a wonderful week with lots of fun highlights too.

Connie's Card

Okay, okay, I said I was going to focus on scrapbooking...but, my friend, Connie is very ill and I wanted to send a little smile her way. This card was created with some kraft cardstock, papers from a 6x6 Sample Pack at Claudia & Co. (I can't remember the name...sorry.) and an AWESOME digi image from the talented Lori Boyd.

The image is called Grandparents but it looks so much like Connie and her hubby, Bill, I had to have them. This is my first use of them and I love how much they really remind me of this very special couple. I hope it brings a little smile to Connie's face.

I'm thinking I'm actually going to enter this in a challenge too. Claudia & Co. is doing a Clean and Simple Challenge right now and I think this fits the bill. Its been a while so, why not?

Fun things to come

Well, Todd and I spent last weekend in Columbus celebrating our 6th Anniversary. We took some photos, not a huge amount but enough for a few layouts. I have them printed and ready to go. I also printed some cute pics of the kids being kids, Aubrey turning three and our last Circut Assembly.

Needless to say, some fun things should be coming this way soon. My papers, adhesives, sewing machine...they've all been calling to me. I'm getting that creative itch and I think I'm going to have to scratch it. Until I post the layouts here is a funny little similarity that makes me smile.

Notice how Todd and Aubrey have the same expression...hehehe...

Tired of the same old...same old...

Well, if you have noticed that I haven't posted anything new for a while, you are not alone...I noticed too! Its been a strange and rough few months. I've been struggling with a lot and trying to keep it all pretty low key. Not sure I do that well, but I try. It started with stress, then depression, then some passing thoughts of worthlessness, some serious thoughts of suicide, my brother was killed in a car accident, followed by grief and the realization that I didn't want to be dead even if I did feel worthless.

My health took a real beating during all of this too. Everything was crazy, shingles, viruses, sinus issues, dehydration, etc. etc. etc...it was a lot to deal with and I stepped away from everything that wasn't essential. No more DT work for me. I just couldn't do anything extra when I couldn't manage the daily responsibilities of my family. How was that fair to anyone? I didn't feel creative, I felt weighed down, as if I were drowning in all of this anxiety. It was not a good place to be.

My mental state nearly had me hospitalized, but with the help of my therapist and best friend along with heartfelt prayer to God, I was able to avoid that. I was put on anti-depressants which have helped me deal with things. Is my life perfect now? No. I'm just handling it better and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel so-to-speak. I feel like I've made it through a fog that was hovering over me and now I can see that things are going to be better.

Why am I sharing this so publicly? Well, I think we all have moments when things get a bit dark. Its my feeling that it can be an embarrassment, it can make you feel weak, damaged, at times broken. However, depression isn't something you make up, it is a real and very powerful problem for many people out there. If you ever feel like this...depressed, blue, down...don't make the mistake of trying to hide it and carrying on without addressing it. You might make it worse. Instead, talk to someone you trust. If you can't do that, call your local crisis hotline and talk with them. If you really feel like you will harm yourself, go to your local emergency room and tell them about it. They should assist you in obtaining immediate mental health care. Above all else, PRAY, we are instructed to do this at Psalm 55:22, "Throw your burden upon Jehovah himself, and he will sustain you."

So, now that I'm beginning to feel like my old sassy and silly self again, I think I'm ready to start back down the road of creative expression. I'll be focusing my attention on my scrapbooking for a while though. I've got a lot of wonderful memories that I want to get in my scrapbooks. Not only is this a great way to get a creative outlet but it is a way to focus on all the reason why I am important and to whom I am important to...My beautiful daughters, my husband, my dearest and best friend, Sheryl, my BIG crazy family full of personality and whit and my extended family of friends in the Christian Brotherhood. If these amazing people can love me...then surely I can learn to love myself.

New Artist and New Releases at Claudia & Co.

Claudia sent me this lovely mailbox digi to work with. Little did she know that it hit home with me in a big way. The florals on this remind me of the vining morning glories that my grand-mother used to love. Now, Grandpa just thought they were weeds...always messing with his yardwork. But, Grandma would buy packets of seeds and tried to get them to trail up some lines she had (if you can believe this...), Grandpa string up for her. She wanted a beautiful entry way at the front door. It was nicely shaded by all of the mature trees on the lot and the morning glories would stay open longer than most.

Morning glories make me think of Grandma and so did this little image.

Challenge #70 - Shape it Up!

Using the new Fine & Dandy True Blue DP at Claudia & Company we had to create projects that were not squares or rectangles for our challenge this week. I felt a bit adventurous with this one so I created my own template and went with a heart. An easel heart shaped card that is.

I was so happy that Claudia let me work with this little guy who is BRAND NEW to the Puddle Jumper Family designed by Lori Boyd. Why? Because he is named "TODD"...also the name of my husband. Too cute, right?

A Fun Quick Project

Okay, many of you know that I don't celebrate holidays. Nope! I don't. I do however, decorate for seasons and really enjoy the splendor that God designed for us to enjoy. So, while many of you are hanging up stockings and decorating trees, I'm putting up snowmen and snoflakes and twinkle lights. I love to leave them up until the "official" changing of the seasons. Its sooooo much fun and my girls love it too.

Tonight I whipped up a little decor for the doorway between our living room and our dinning/kitchen area. It is just this huge boring rectangle so I like to throw things up there to spruce it up when I can.

Here is what you'll need if you want to replicate this project:

A tension rod

A deck of shaped cards (I used penguin cards purchased for $1.00 at WalMart)

Ornament hangers (mine are scrolled)

DCWV Glittered DP

Snowflake dies

A hole punch or you crop-a-dile

Using a double sided adhesive glue two cards together. Try to match the shapes as best as you can...they won't be perfect but it will be alright...really.

Using your hole punch create a hole in the top and bottom of the penguin card.

Attach your little penguin to a hanger, then add another at the bottom.

Now, create as many snowflakes as you desire for your project. Attach one the hanger at the bottom of your penguin.

If you like, add snowflakes to additional hangers by them selves.

Now, attach them to your tension rod.

When you are all done place it where you want it and enjoy.

Here is what ours looked like when it was all finished.

ACLP #68 - Tag It!

Okay, this is a bitter-sweet post because it will be the last challenge post at A Crafty Little Place.

We won't be having any other challenges until after the first of the year and those will be at our new home at Claudia and Company.

Don't fret though, we know you are all busy during this time of year and we have some wonderful suprises in store for you through the end of December. So you'll have to stop by and visit us.

This week we are working with TAGS! The girls and I used scraps from our Jovial Collection and whipped up some of these fun and functional tag projects. BTW, Jovial products are on sale right now at Die Cuts R Us. Pop on over and check it out.

Here is a tag I made for my daughter, Anna Beth. She is really into painting with acrylics right now and I have a set of acrylics and some art supplies that she is going to be getting. I created it to be a bit long because she is a reader and I'm hoping this will double as a bookmark for her.

My Project for ACLP

Okay, I promised I'd have a project for you to look at by the end of the day. Well, I'm not myself yet, but I did manage to get some photos of this cute little gift card holder that I made. I was supposed to teach a class today about how to create this little gem but, it had to be rescheduled.

I hope to get the class rescheduled very soon because this card holder is too sweet not to share.

This one is blurry but it shows all the glitter from the Stickles. Love all the glitter!

Here is a photo of the inside. The gift card is nestled nicely in a little pocket and there is plenty of room for a nice message on the left or the right.

Challenge #67 - Sketch It!

Okay this week we have a sketch at A Crafty Little Place. The simple lines and balanced design really make this one appealing and we have our very own, Joni Wilson to thank for that.

The design team members all worked with various sample papers from the Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather line. Let me say...OH, MY! The girls really created some beautiful cards with this one. You'll just fall off your chair for JONI's coloring on her super cute image.

As for me? I'm off to the doctor again and I'll need to post my project later. Still, I want to give you a little something to drool over...

Let It Snow!

Today we have had SNOW! I woke up feeling like a little kid. Our dog, Rileigh well, she is afraid of snow. Maybe it just aggravates her. Every year we get snow the first, second, third and subsequent snows thereafter; she will dance in circles barking at the falling flakes. I'm beginning to think that maybe my Sheltie is a bit of a flake herself...hehehe. Still, each year it brings a smile to my face.

Bekah returned to school today and made it all day long! No calls to pick her up. She was so tired she nearly passed out by 6:30. We had the hardest time rousing her for dinner and before I could set her plate in front of her...she climbed under the dinning room table and fell asleep in what I can only describe as, the child's pose. (You yogis know what I'm talking about...love that asana...so relaxing.)

All I know is that I'm read to get some R&R and hope to get some craft time tomorrow. I had too many errands and too much cold air and wind on my face and ears today.

Enjoy the beauty of the changing seasons, keeping safe and warm while you do.

Now, I'd like to take a moment to share my little project with you. Snow is one of those natural wonders that makes me feel like a child each time I see it. Especially the first snow of the season. It evokes a certain joy that few other things can deep within me. I've been known to bundle up and walk for the pure joy of walking in a white wintery storm, prance around with my tongue sticking out as I try to get a flake as it descends upon me, decorate my home in blues and silvers with lots of glittery snowflakes hanging from doorways and windows, instigate a snow ball fight or two...I LOVE the SNOW!

Mix my adoration for The Greeting Farm and snow together and you get this little project that I created specifically for this occassion. I sincerely hope you enjoy it. Please finish the entire "Hoppin' Into the Holidays" Blog Hop because there are so many phenomenal projects just waiting for you to discover them.

No, the rhinestone flourishes didn't come that way. I put them on one at a time...I kick myself because there are about twenty hiding behind Miss Anya...guess I should have planned that one better...LOL!

The word "snow" is actually a cheepie from WalMart. It is a table decoration. You can pick up a pack for like a dollar! I just colored mine over in a Holiday Blue Copic and then added more sparkle with some Stickles.

With a little added light you can almost see the frost...hehehe...

Quick Post of Interest

Okay, I'm so not with things today. Had to pick up Bekah from school yesterday because she threw up in the classroom trash can. An entire 1/2 hour of education! She's on a roll... She coughed and gagged all night in her sleep. Cried a few times...still sleeping...so, I'm running on empty today.

At right after 1:00 PM I realized it was Tuesday and I hadn't posted for the challenge blog at ACLP!!! How embarrassing!!!! Fancy Nancy Fantastic Fan Photo Contest

Bekah and I have been HUGE fans of the Fancy Nancy Books from the original release...we got it when Bekah was just a few months old. It became a favorite and we have as many of the readers and hardbacks as we can find.

When Miss Bekah was three we had her very first Fancy Nancy Party at the local BK Restaurant. Everybody that attended had to dress in fancy attire. Moms and Grandmas too. What a spectacular day to be at BK! We all made the big mascot look normal...LOL! Feathers were everywhere. Glitter...goody bags full of even more accessories to be added to the boas and tiaras. It was fabulous!

So, I just found out that there was this fun contest and Bekah is at just the right age to be a contestant. Though we've had other Fancy Nancy Excursions we can't seem to find any photos better than this one for the contest rules. ACLP Challenge #65 - Alter It!

At A Crafty Little Place we are creating altered projects this week. Our DT worked with the

I used a recycled coffee drink tin to create my little project. Honestly, I'm not sure yet what will become of this little wonder. It may end up staying in my craft studio. Who knows? I'm kind of stingy that way with my crafts...maybe I'd have more room if I gave some of them away...oh, my precious little handmade friends...I'd miss you all...LOL! Just kidding! I'm not that far gone yet. Or, am I?

Well, my little project had some issues. I'm certain it was all operator errors...like cutting through my lid after adding my decorative paper only to rip through and fatally mangle said decorative paper. This was going to be a little fun money bank complete with the lid and little slot at top. It did have matching velvet ribbon around the lid edge and looked so cute until I maimed it beyond recognition. Boo-hoo!

I'm late on my post so no time to correct. Looks like I'm going to have to drink more coffee to obtain another little lid to use as a topper...awww, shucks!

Well, you all keep those hands busy and maybe I'll catch you over at A Crafty Little Place later in the week.

ACLP Challenge #64 - Colors: Red - Green - White

Color is the subject of this week's challenge at A Crafty Little Place. Our Designers worked with the Jovial DP. I'm not a holiday person, however, the seasonal design of this paper inspired me to create a wintery card.

Here is my little tent card. I added an Ian and Anya from The Greeting Farm. The sentiment is a freebie that I received this summer from Simon Says Stamp. I finally got the chance to break it out and I really love how it helps to build this card.

Busy Day, Sick Kid, Busy Week

Okay, this is just an update post. No pics to share quite yet. Maybe...I may grab one and throw it in for good measure later...hehehe.

Today is going to be such a busy day. I've still got tons to do this morning, (while its still morning, only forty minutes to go), errands to run, school papers to gather, hair cut, then a PTO meeting this evening. Not too bad really, the problem lies in the fact that I have yet, another sick child.

Its Rebekah again! We just can't get her immune system built up. She's had one thing after the other. Woke up in the wee hours of Sunday morning running a fever of 101.5 and feeling icky in her tummy. Fever kept up all day yesterday and she's still running a low grade fever now. Thank goodness she can't fail pre-school because of absences. (I actually asked...yes, I did.)

Now, if I can get her healthy and back to school I might be able to get everything done this week. We've got several things going on including my class at the library. I guess they had a spot on the radio this weekend and announced that I would be teaching the card class on Thursday. We had a friend of the family listening so now everybody is excited about it...LOL! I'm a local celebrity...ROTFLMBO! (Hence the need for a hair cut...can't be a celeb and look scruffy...LOL!)

Tomorrow should be fun. We'll have our new challenge at A Crafty Little Place up and running. I may have a new photo for you all to giggle over on my profile pic. Hopefully I'll have a good report about my little Bekah being on the mend. So, until then, I'll leave you with this little photo of my Bekah holding a salamander.

Going to be TEACHING!

That's right! I'm going to be teaching some classes at our local library. The Head of Adult Programs contacted me a couple of days ago and we are all scheduled. I will teach a card making class (I did not write that up BTW, {blushing}) on November 11th.

Currently, I'm putting together the supplies for the class. (Adding a few surprises too. I can never just give the needed supplies...hehehe.) I'm really looking forward to this. The idea was brought up a few different times but this time...they called me and WANTED me to go for it. What a wonderful feeling. I think any time a person is recognized for something they enjoy doing and something that is an integral part of who they are and how they express themselves...well, it's sheer BLISS! Humbling too. Lets hope I can actually teach the 12 individuals who will be taking my class. How embarrassing would it be if they were all more advanced than myself...LOL!

As soon as there are photos of my samples for the project we'll be making, I'll be sure to post them.

The Lohstroh's Family Pumpkin Farm

Here are some pic from the trip Rebekah and her classmates from pre-school took today. Amidst the treacherous winds and before the tornado warning...we actually did have fun.

First ride on the school bus. She rode with her classmates just like a Big Girl.

This is the little "pumpkin market" that was near the parking. Lots of variety and some wild looking gourds too.

We took a hayride out to the pumpkin patch. Three tractors pulled three wagons. (My DT sister and friend has a fantastically cute tractor digi that I may have to get from her...isn't that right JONI?)

Sneaking up on the pumpkins? Bekah reminds me of a certain college football trophy...LOL!

Hmm? Will this one do?

No, its my pumpkin and I don't want Aubrey to hold it!

Yeah! Its all mine! I'm so happy!

Who's a pretty pumpkin?

This pretty little pumpkin was just a few feet from the tractor we were on. Nobody wanted it. I guess its all about the adventure of walking through the patch. {{giggles}}

Here was a gorgeous cow! She had a big day too. While we were coming back from the pumpkin patch, she decide to birth a calf!!!! We got to see it after it was only a few minutes old!

Here they are. She had it right there on the "road"! Poor little guy was all icky and wet but she was a bit distracted from all of the admirers gazing. Took clean up a bit longer I expect. I did get to see it on all fours but it only lasted a moment. What a very cool thing to happen on your very first field trip!

"You expect me to eat out here in this wind?" Love the expressions she gives me... the little burger!

Okay, for those of you who don't know this is Bekah's special friend. At school they are called "Mary Jane" and "Peter Parker". They used to be in a playgroup together when they were just about 12-18 months old. The two just gravitate toward one another. I think its cute.

How tall am I? Check out Bekah's pony tail! The wind was really moving it.

This was a pretty good pic we got in a teeny little structure with some straw bales. She looks like the perfect little country girl.

Okay, you can't really tell but this was a giant "caterpillar". the front end was decorated to look like one. The children took turns climbing up and walking or crawling clear to the other end.

Bekah decided to crawl...very slowly. Aubrey waited patiently trailing behind her big fearless sister.

She crawled so slowly we nearly had a traffic jam. The kids were getting irritated behind her. Poor thing, it was called a "Caterpillar Crawl" after all and that is just what she did.

A little break after all of that crawling.

Right before we left and just before the announcement of the Tornado Warning. The winds were so strong at this point I'd already told Bekah's teacher we were leaving. I went to get the munchkins and they were telling us all about the storm watches and tornado warnings as we were headed to the van.

It wasn't a very long trip but it sure was memorable.

ACLP Challenge #62 - Create Something SPOOKY!

This week the challenge at A Crafty Little Place is to create something SPOOKY! Well, spooky is really all relative isn't it. You'll be delighted to see the adorably spooky creations that the designers put together for you.

We all got to play with the cosmically fun Rockets and Rayguns. Claudia has it in a great sample pack for only $2.75 over at Die Cuts R Us. If blogger were cooperating I'd show you a picture of it...drat that blogger!

Now, I made a little pillow box that has some fun ellements on it. Space monsters! I think they are way cute! My girls will get a kick out of it when they see it in the morning. I may have to fill it with some fish crackers for a lunchtime surprise for Bekah.

Tuesday is her first field trip with school. She is going to a pumpkin farm. What a treat for us all with the exception of the forecast. Winds, lots of wind and storms. I don't know how long they will get to see the farm but we are taking ponchos just to be safe.

Lets see if we can get my photo loaded so you can see it.

Okay, I got the paper to upload. YAY! Isn't it fun?

An Autumn Wedding Celebration

A friend of mine recently got married to a sweetheart of a lady. Terry and Cindy did something near and dear to my own heart...they wed in Gaitlynburg, TN and then planned a reception for their friends and family right here in the big O-H-I-O. (Todd and I did the very same thing nearly six years ago.)

The reception is tomorrow. So, I have been busy trying to figure out what to give them and how to do it. Here is what I've got so far, the gift...a set of thank you cards. I still need to make a box to put them into. but here they are:

The card is in kiwi and cream. It really was quite pretty. I hope the recipients liked it. When we left the party they were having a great deal of fun with friends and family. We had to scoot out early due to Bekah and Anna still being sick.

Well, I'm done for now. It took me two days to get this up because of some PC issues. See you all soon...I hope!
